Hebrew 12:6 “For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth…”

There’s only One who can chastise you without making you feel bad. Instead, when the Lord chastens you, you are suddenly aware of your behavior & you are filled with a hope & a desire to change & do better.

How does He do that? I believe it’s because He is perfect & He does it with a perfect love.

Sometimes we’re blind to the dumb things we do & the selfishness or pride in our heart. Sometimes He needs to help us see it.

It’s so amazing to me though how encouraging it is instead of belittling. How it entices us to want to change our behavior & the things that we do. To become better, to learn, & to grow.

I know if anyone else were to tell me what i’m doing wrong or point out my sins or weaknesses that i probably would feel offended, scolded, judged, upset, or guilty.

But instead, when He does, i feel enlightened, corrected, understood, hopeful, & a desire to do better & repent.

What a difference.

“For whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth..’

& He does it with love.
